CPD Issues

There are some users who are experiencing problems with the CPD tool. The issues generally relate to being not being able to access menu items. Please note the following:

The system works best:

  • with Firefox, Chrome, or Microsoft Edge (Windows 10)
  • with a broad range of devices from computers, laptops, tablets and smart phones

The system doesn’t work or works with limitations

  • older computers, especially those running Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows XP
  • any computer running Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 8 or earlier
  • systems behind corporate firewalls with setting that prohibit the computer from loading certain types of programs

Why is this?
Computer technology (the stuff that is beyond our control) is changing. Developers have to decide whether to make a system function with newer machines or older machines. The real issue with the older computers is that they are not secure and in many cases no longer supported by manufacturers. As a public body and one that deeply values protecting your personal information, we must choose systems and programs that are as secure as possible.

What can I do if my computer doesn’t work?
Try another machine as often organizations will replace computers one at a time. You might be able to find a newer machine within your organization. Try accessing the system from a home computer, especially if the issue is a corporate firewall. Pay a visit to your local library and use one of their computers. If you have a tablet or a smart phone, give that a try.
If you are having trouble logging in, search the public registry for your registration number. If you’ve forgotten your password, use the forgot password function. If you require an Activation Code – you will have to contact the College
