No. The Province’s decision to regulate psychotherapy as a health profession does not change the scope of practice of registered social workers or registered clinical social workers. Registrants who are competent to provide psychotherapy may continue to do so under the authority of the Social Workers Act and in accordance with BCCSW’s regulatory requirements, including the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
